To Whom It May Concern:
It is indeed a pleasure to recommend Carlos Ossa for a teaching position in either the urban or suburban school of Buffalo.
I have known Mr. Ossa for three years. Our first meeting was in The Latin American Institute where he is teaching classes for adults at all levels of Spanish. I knew immediately at my first lesson that I would be learning Spanish from an excellent teacher.
All further classes with him have justified this evaluation.
Mr. Ossa teaching style is that of a master teacher. Spanish is his native language and he excels in knowledge of the language and culture.
He places the students first in his focus and adapts teaching to what students need. He is skillful at adapting to students even when they are at many different levels in the same class.
His teaching lessons are not only at the right level for students, they are varied. He uses tapes, native speaker guests, well-defined colored charts, handouts that clearly illustrate the points he is making and many other appropriate materials.
I have been in the field of second language teaching for almost 30 years. I taught a second language (French) at both junior and senior high schools. I have been in the Department of Learning and Instruction at UB for over 25 years where I have worked with me colleagues in developing second language teachers.
I rank Mr. Ossa in the top 1% of all the language teachers I have seen in my lifetime. I recommend him to you without reservation. Whoever gets him will see second language teaching at its best.
Cordially,

Dear Sir/Madam:
I am currently attending Spanish-language classes offered by Carlos M. Ossa at The Latin American Institute in Buffalo, NY.
This is my third round of classes with Carlos and I have only the highest praise for him as a teacher and a person. He is very knowledgeable in the subject matter and, equally importantly, has a passion and ability to impart his knowledge.
Carlos is very patient and has a positive attitude that is very contagious.
His first-hand knowledge of Spanish-speaking culture and the nuances of the Spanish language also are invaluable. In short, I would highly recommend Carlos for a teaching position at any school district. If you would like to speak to me directly about Mr. Ossa, please feel free to contact me by telephone or e-mail.
Yours truly,
Paul Maliszewski, P.E.
